About Lacrimas Profundere
Without chaos there is no creativity, and both are the driving force behind new adventures – adventures that Lacrimas Profundere (Latin for “shedding tears”) have been fortunate enough to experience in 40 countries so far, far away from the glittering dream cinemas of LA. Always with the firm determination to present the band at any cost, not just in the club around the corner but worldwide, for example in Peru or Tokyo.
This unconditional devotion to their own music, and the passion never to give up despite countless setbacks, and even to keep growing through innumerable curious, sometimes downright crazy stories, have allowed the four melancholics to outlast numerous musical trends and travel to 40 countries.
After starting out as a Death Doom Metal band, they turned towards Gothic over the years. AVE END paved the way for its successor FILTHY NOTES FOR FROZEN HEARTS. This album brought them the attention of HIM devotee and US Jackass star BAM MARGERA. “And God´s Ocean” from SONGS FOR THE LAST VIEW was not only covered by Bam and Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), but was also used as background music in the ZDF Monday crime drama “NACHTSCHICHT UND DAS TOTE MÄDCHEN”.
With “Bleeding The Stars”, a mix of Gothic Metal and back to the roots, they achieved titles such as “Album of the Month” in ‘Metal Hammer’, ‘Orkus’ and the American ‘Dead Rhetoric’, top 10 placings in the other major magazines and another entry into the charts.
Its successor “How To Shroud Yourself With Night” then finally paved the way for the quartet to reach their self-set goal of becoming one of the most innovative and successful German Dark Metal bands of today – and, along the way, of bringing a brand-new musical style to life: “GOTHCORE”. Descriptions such as “a mix of HIM and MetalCore”, “Dimmu Borgir meets The Cure” or even “Billy Idol” meets “Cradle Of Filth” are the words the press used for this album. “A band straight out of a Tarantino film”, wrote Way of Darkness Mag, for example.
In 2023 the band celebrated its 30th anniversary with the song “Breathing Souls”, in collaboration with their friends and fellow musicians Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost) and Tobias Schönemann (The vision bleak), and in 2024 came the stand-alone single “Obscurity”, which was immediately listed in the biggest playlists such as All New Metal on Spotify and Trends: Metal on Apple Music.
The song “Shimmering” was written specially for their performance at the sold-out MERA LUNA 2024, and the accompanying video clip impressively shows the band’s close bond with their fans.
But music is also hard work: alongside a more than full schedule, including the tour with Paradise Lost in 2025, recording has just begun on the new album, which is due to be released in 2026.
So don’t miss any of their live shows, whatever you do, and feel the unique energy the four unleash on stage. The numerous sold-out shows on their last tour prove the guys right.
